2019 MCBA rules

Maury County Bass Angler’s

2019 Rules

Rule And Regulations:  Interpretation of these rules will be left exclusively to the MCBA Directors. The decision of the Directors will be final in all matters. Infractions of any rule can result in disqualification.

1. Membership dues for the season (2019) = $40.00 per person

$7.50 of this fee will be dedicated to a cash award and trophy to the team of the year to be determined by the team that finishes the regular season with the most points. $32.50 of this fee will remain in the club account for expenses, repairs of scales , and overhead as determined by the club treasurer.

2. Tournament Entry Fee per Team = $60.00 / boat per tournament

Since points will be awarded to the registered team, an angler fishing without his partner will still be required to pay the full fee of $60.00 per boat. Should 2 angler from different teams choose to fish a tournament together the boat fee will be $60.00 with each angler paying $30.00 each but the points will be divided equally between the 2 different teams.

$5.00 will be awarded for Big fish award

$20.00 will be retained for classic cash

$35.00 will be awarded for each placing in the tournament for every 7 boats in the tournament .

Example 1-7 boats  will pay out 1 place

                8-14 boats will pay out 2 places (65%for 1st,35% for 2nd)

15 or more boats will pay out 3 places(60%,30%,10%)

3. Points System for Team Of Year: Points will be awarded for each tournament to teams starting at 100 points for 1st., 99 for 2nd, 98 for 3rd, etc.

Should one or multiple teams not weigh a measuring fish for that tournament, then that team (s) will be awarded points for participation equal to the last team weighing fish minus 1 point.

Example for 8 boats weighing fish 8th place team = 93 points. For the 2 teams not weighing fish , both teams will receive 92 points.

Those teams that only pay tournament entry fees and do not participate in the tournament will receive 50 points.

4. Classic Qualification : Teams must pay full entry fee  ($60.00) for 7 tournaments . Participation is encouraged but not required for qualification to Classic. A fee of $20.00 will be required for any boat that only fishes 7 tournament. (the portion of each boats entry fee per tournament that is set aside for classic awards.)

There will be only a $5.00 big fish fee per boat collected on the  day of the classic. Any teams that missed one tournament during the season will pay $ 20.00 before classic to satisfy qualification requirements.

2019 Maury County Bass Anglers Rules
1. All contestants must put in at the official ramp. No trailing will be permitted. Locking through to another lake is not permitted.
2. All live wells must be checked by tournament committee prior to start of tournament. Any contestant(s) arriving after official blast off has occurred must find the tournament director or member of the tournament committee to have live well checked and tournament entry fee paid unless pre-paid before starting to fish.
3. If a contestant cannot return to official weigh in site due to mechanical breakdown, one member of the team may enter another contestants boat and transport their creel to weigh in as long as those fish remain separate from the ’taxi’ boats creel. Fish may be either bagged in a bag or transported in live well in separate compartment with cull device attached to identify those fish.
4. Should a team or person fishing alone have to leave the lake before official weigh in time, every effort should be made to contact tournament director and inform them of that circumstance. If contact cannot be made via cell phone, text, or email, please leave a written note on a known vehicle to inform director to prevent needless efforts to look for that boat after weigh in has completed .
5. Bass length limits will be based on current state regulations for that species. In the event that there is no length limit for spotted bass (Kentucky bass) and Largemouth bass  a 12 “ minimum length will apply.
All fish will be measured from tip of nose to tail with mouth closed on a legal board ( Golden Rule will be standard of measurement)
A fish may be presented to weigh in for a courtesy measurement but must inform the weigh master prior to commencing weighing of creel.
Penalty: should any fish in the bag be deemed shorter than the legal length limit the largest fish in the creel will be removed from the bag and remaining fish may be weighed for prizes or awards.
No more than 5 fish may be weighed per boat for each tournament. A maximum number of only 5 fish may be transported to weigh in site. Additional fish should be culled prior to return to ramp.
6. All fish must be taken by rod and reel only. Trolling is considered illegal for these tournaments. Artificial baits only. Pork skin type baits as trailers are allowed. No live baits are allowed.
7. Rigs with multiple lures may be used but must conform to current state regulations for number of baits containing hooks in the state where the tournament is located.
8. Late Penalty: All members must be at the official weigh in site on time to be eligible for cash and prizes. 1 pound per minute late for 5 minutes will be deducted from the total creel weight. After 5 minutes, the total creel weight will be disqualified and the anglers will receive no points for that tournament. Weigh in will begin fifteen minutes after official end of tournament as noted on schedule. No second calls for weigh in will be entertained.
9. Dead Fish Penalty: There will be a ½ pound penalty for each dead fish presented for weigh in deducted from the total weight. No more than 2 dead fish will be weighed for total weight.
No Dead Fish will be weighed for consideration of any cash or prizes for Big Fish Award for the tournament or for Club Big Fish Award at conclusion of tournament season.
10. All entry fees should be paid prior to official launch time to be eligible to participate in the tournament.
Prepayment of tournament entry fee to tournament director or other designated club officer(s)  may occur as well for 7 days prior to tournament date. Should club member arrive to lake after blast off, that person must find tournament director or other designated club officer(s)  on lake for mandatory live well check and payment of entry fee before starting to fish. Acceptance of entry fee is at the tournament directors discretion.
11. No more than two (2) anglers  may fish per boat. Exception  : Another participant in the tournament may return to weigh in while accompanying his catch but may not continue to fish while in the  “taxi” boat returning to weigh in.
12. Life Jackets or PFD’s must be worn  any time the outboard motor is running and the boat is under way ( in gear).
13. Liability Insurance:  All anglers must carry current insurance on boats used during MCBA tournaments. Proof of insurance must be available if requested by tournament director.
All participants must read and sign a Registration and Release of Liability statement for MCBC. This will be done once at the beginning of the season.
14. At the discretion of the tournament director, the tournament may be cancelled or shortened due to circumstance that would be deemed unsafe such as weather conditions, high or dangerous water or wind , etc.
